Sangiovese Adelaide Hills
| STYLE | fresh yet savoury and delicious |
| AROMA | red cherries and subtle notes of orange rind |
| red cherries and subtle notes of orange rind | lovely vibrant fruit to begin, complemented with a creamy edge owing to time on lees. The tight, typical Sangiovese tannin profile adds a lovely persistence to the finish which is balanced with an attractive savoury note. |

| FOOD | this is a versatile wine, great with alittle charcuterie, a hearty salad or of course, pizza! |
| VINEYARD | Macclesfield, Adelaide Hills |
| SOIL | well drained loam with ample sunlight, hillside |
| SEASON | we didn’t pick Sangiovese in 2023, so we were pretty excited to watch this fruit ripen and develop for 2024. The lead up to 2024 vintage was smooth, with decent rainfall in the growing season. This ripening period was dry, allowing us to measure out the irrigation and ensure a clean crop. We harvested on 11 April. |
| WINEMAKING | open fermentation with regular gentle pumpovers to ensure we extract all the goodness of flavour from the skins whilst carefully ensuring we don’t extract too much tannin, as tannin and acid are so bountiful with sangiovese. |
| MATURATION | malolactic fermentation and further maturation in seasoned French oak puncheons |
| ALC/VOL | 13.5% |
AUSTRALIA (SA) ~ Barossa Valley: Small Victories
Meet the Ashmead family. We are passionate about making wines that speak of the remarkable communities that they come from, be that the beautiful Barossa, or further afield as we start to spread our wings with Small Victories Wine Co. In 2020, as our family business turned 40, together we decided it was time to explore some different wine styles, varieties, and regions. We set out to create Small Victories Wine Co and make a range of wines that are fresh and modern; wines that look to the future, with sustainability and climate change in mind; but most importantly, wines that are seriously delicious.
Small Victories allows our family to have a bit of fun, making wines that can break the rules and not always conform to those ideals that Elderton holds dear.
