Shiraz
The 2022 growing season started off with cooler than average temperatures. This cooler weather combined with excellent soil moisture meant that the vines were under very little stress throughout the ripening period. However, the cool weather and rain was short lived and warmer temperatures returned late December through to end of February. Fruit was harvested from four separate sites, three from Redesdale and one from our home block in Heathcote.
| Region | Heathcote |

| Winemaking | The four vineyard sites and their various sections where handled separately in the winery that created 10 unique batches of wine. The grapes were fermented in open top fermenters after gentle destemming, with some batches receiving whole bunches. The wines were then pressed and transferred into French Oak barrels (300L – 700L) for malolactic fermentation, Racked once during maturation and bottled February 2023. |
| Tasting note | Vibrant perfume of lifted dark berry fruits and spice, with a subtle background of pepper spice and whole bunch perfume. The palate is structured, intensely concentration and long. |
